SW Regional Team Selection 2025

Competitions

Today saw three of our higher level tumblers take to the stage at Axis to compete for selection in the Inter-Regional Challenge Cup Finals in July in Birmingham. Originally, we had five tumblers hoping to compete, however due to injuries not all could attend, which we were gutted to hear bearing in mind all of the work they had put in to perfecting their runs.

Nevertheless, the morning saw Ella C compete in the Regional 2 15+ Girls Category for the first time, against girls quite a bit older than her! She performed three clean runs against some tough competition, building up confidence for future tumbling competitions in this category. Next up was Ella S, who after her win at the Schools Championships prior was hungry to continue on that wave of confidence, and she did not disappoint! Placing 2nd in her category, she will represent the South West in Birmingham in the Regional 2 13-14 Girls category, a huge achievement and something to really look forward to! Finally, Zach competed in the Regional 4 Mens 15+ competition, competing new high level runs, including a barani run in which his hands wouldn’t ever touch the floor in! Unfortunately, he just missed out on qualification, coming 3rd, but is good experience for the upcoming English Championships which he qualified for not too long ago!

Congratulations to our lot for their consistently positive attitudes and determination, these results are truly testament to the work they put in at training. We wish Tilly and Christian quick recoveries from injuries as well, we hope to see them out competing again soon!

Additionally, none of our tumblers would not be near the level they are without the constant positive coaching of our tumbling coaches Craig and Dave. Their dedication and commitment to the club can be seen in every single one of our tumblers, and their continuous drive for progression is encourages the gymnasts to put that extra effort in return for success at these events. Thank you both for continuing to develop our Tumbling Squad!
